We are ready to release a new update for RAXO K2 content module. We got lots of positive response on RAXO All-mode K2 from our clients. Also their feedback gave us some great ideas of what can be improved to make the module better. Please, see the new features and fixes added.
New features:
- Images from content plugins are now supported.
Create thumbnails for images added by content plugins like
image galleries, sliders, pop-up images, etc. - Russian localization.
Improved:
- Modification in module work with K2 images.
Now thumbnails can be created even if the original image was removed for some reason (/media/k2/items/src/). - Fix for thumbnail cache files permission settings.
The module sets correct permissions (0644) instead of using default permissions which caused problems on some hostings. - Some localization issues fixed.

Support for Images from Content Plugins
The module generally works with the K2 images and images placed in the text body. However, sometimes site developers use various plugins for image presentation. Here we mean plugins like image galleries, image sliders, pop-up images, etc. When using these plugins, the item itself usually doesn't contain any image, and in this case the module could display only a default image.
With this update RAXO All-mode K2 is able to recognize images from content plugins and can create thumbnails for such cases.
Modification in module work with K2 images
When you add an image to K2 item, this component creates several images of different sizes that are placed in a cache folder. At the same time the original image is saved in another folder (/media/k2/items/src/).
By default, our module uses the original image for thumbnail generation. Yet, as we noticed, site developers may remove the original image for some reason. And in this case the module couldn't find an image to process.
We made an important improvement and now RAXO All-mode K2 checks the original image first and, if it cannot find it, the module searches for another image - K2 Large size image.
So, if you somehow removed or lost the original K2 image, the module is still able to generate thumbnails for your K2 items.
